So, you just supped up your car? You have a new engine, new paint, and new spoilers, very nice indeed. So want to keep that “baby” safe. Well, get it insured! I’ll walk you through some things that will be useful while you search for insurance.

There are many things to look for in an insurer. Your insurer should fit your needs. If you want somebody who insures exotic cars, then find one that does it. Same goes for classics and antiques. If you need insurance then get the right kind. Also, valued contract agreements are a necessity. These basically state that if your car is totaled or damaged beyond use you will get a full refund on what you paid for the insurance.

One other major thing you may want to look at is the road side assistance. Pushing your car around instead of riding in it is not an ideal time. As well, some companies offer insurance for those who are working with the car.

Also offered is for you to use the repair shop of your choice. If you have a friend that owns a shop, and enjoy going to his shop, looking for an insurer that allows you to use your own would be in your best interest.

Before you sign up right away, make sure you fit the requirements. Some companies require you to keep your car in a locked storage place while it’s not in use. Of course if you want to drive your car on a daily basis you’ll have to pay a little more than usual. Also required, is that you have a decent driving record. Meaning no major infractions, and certainly nothing life threatening. Most insurers will allow a few minor violations, such as speeding tickets, as long as they’re not excessive. Basically what you need to do is make yourself look better, almost as if you were going into an interview.

Car quotes, there not difficult to find. The only problem is you have to find the right quote. When looking for a quote, you want to make sure it consists of all the components necessary for you to feel safe. If you need an insurer who gives you the best quote in the world, but they don’t offer you everything you need, what’s the point? There is none. So of course make sure it’s you. That is what your quote should represent, you. Enjoy your cars, you deserve it!

So you have an antique? You say you don’t want anything to happen to your “baby”? Then do something about it! There’s no reason you shouldn’t have somebody come to you when you’re on the side of the road with no gas left in the tank. Or when a tire of yours is flattened and you don’t have any spares. There’s no reason at all that anybody with a classic car doesn’t deserve an insurer who will always be there to help them when it’s needed. That’s why you should get your car insured as soon as possible. But before you go searching for that insurance, listen to what I have to say, it will help you in the long run.

You don’t want to have to push your car down the road. So, one of the key things to look for in insurance is road side assistance. When you have this all your worries in the world are wished away. You no longer have to worry about what happens when you get stuck in the middle of nowhere. Your car is an antique, treat it like one!

Next thing, if you’re looking for an insurer that allows you to use your car regularly you may have a tough time. Most insurers only allow you to use your car during a show or a special event. Also included in this, is the statement that your car must be locked in a safe storage area while not in use. As you can see, your car must truly be an antique if you wish to find insurance the easy way.

One other thing to look for while searching for an insurer is to make sure they have an agreed value contract. This contract basically states that if you’re car is totaled or out of commission permanently, you will receive a refund on what you paid for the insurance. This way you know you’ll be financially safe if something does happen to your “baby”.

If you have a repairman that you use consistently than make sure the insurer allows you to use the repair shop of your choice. If you go wherever you can to get a quick fix then this is not necessary for you to have.

Surprisingly enough, there are a few insurers that supply coverage for any persons working on the antique as well. If an injury occurs during a show or special event some companies will actually supply insurance for that person as well. No matter what, make sure you get the car insurance that fits you the best. Enjoy your “babies”! Happy riding!
